how or why would you use hair tape?

I think it is the stuff used way back to hold short hair or sections down for a roller set or updo at night. I am shocked it is still being made...
 
I saw this stuff in a discount store a couple of years ago and was as confused as you were. /images/graemlins/rofl.gif The tape was pink like the one in your link and the package had no explanation or instructions at all, like you were just supposed to automatically know what to do with it. /images/graemlins/confused.gif I think someone told me they thought it was used for wigs.

Nah, that's toupee tape. That stuff is darn near permanent.
 
I've seen white women in old movies use it to set what looked like pin curls in front of their ears. Sometimes they would have a whole row going across their foreheads.
