Count me in!

i remember when I once made my regimen so complicated, even *I* couldn't keep up with it. I had something like, weeks 1 and 3, i'll do this, weeks 2 and 4, i'll do that. But some weeks were exceptions, like weeks 4 and weeks 6... some weird crap like that.

My regimen is this: (i've just switched to NTM) and i'll be washing 2x a week probably.

-Pre-poo treament with AO GPB con. (once a week)
-Clarify with Suave clarifying shampoo, if needed.
-Wash with NTM shampoo
-Cond. with NTM con.
-Deep con. (once a week) with NTM con. or Queen Helene's Hot Oil treatment
-Leave in: NTM silk touch+ Giovanni Direct leave in
-Moisturize: Motions oil moisturizer and Pure shea butter on ends.

Air dry! and sometimes use Caruso rollers
If i'm blowdrying though, I need an extra step: apply heat protectant.

keepin mind... i'm still missing the: AO con, the NTM con, the hot oil, the pure shea butter, the heat protectant, and the caruso rollers:lol: i ran out of them or never had them in the first place. this regimen will be in full swing by the end of the summer though.

Okay so here is my regimen:

Co-wash as needed, usually 2-3X's a week.
Shampoo & Wash once a week
DC once a week.
Moisturized as needed, usually 1-2X's a day.
Viviscal twice daily.

Things I'm working on:

Not using a comb more then once a week.
Using a spray bottle to moisturize.
Completely eliminating the use of a brush. ~ I know they're evil:angeldevi

I feel good about this challenge all ready. I've stopped using my MN so that has largely reduced the amount of time I am manipulating my hair. I am also now wearing my phony pony for the first time and I am getting a lot of compliments :Blush2: (my guy friend loves it). So I think I'll do that for a couple of months then get braids for September - December.

So I may have missed this but are we just checking in monthly with our progress or is it going to be all at once in December?

I've been "kissing" for years now. I wash once a week and depends on how my hair feels whether I 'poo or co-wash. Here's my general regimen:

'Poo Week (using one of the following products currently in my stash):
1. 'poo (therappe, keracare hydrating, nexxus aloe rid; aubrey JAY, perlier white almond 'poo/condish)
2. condish (nexxus humectress, keracare humecto, lustrasilk cholestral, aubrey GPB, nexxus keraphix). Leave on at least long enough to detangle while saturated with condish; wash out immediately or plastic cap on for as long as I have time - this varies from week to week, so no set time -- sometimes rinse out right after detanging, sometimes leave in for hours, it depends.
3. ACV if I feel I need, otherwise, skip
4. apply leave-in (nexxus headdress, salerm 21, giovanni direct)
5 apply oil (castor, jojoba, castor, grapeseed, nexxus botanic oil, etc.)
6. air dry (rollerset, bun dry, loose dry, whatever I have time for that week)

Co-wash Week (using one of the following products currently in my stash):
1. co-wash (roux porosity control, nexxus ensure, humectress, humecto, GPB) - apply to dry hair, leave on at least long enough to detangle while saturated with condish; wash out immediately or plastic cap on for as long as I have time - this varies from week to week, so no set time -- sometimes rinse out right after detanging, sometimes leave in for hours, it depends.
2. ACV if I feel I need, otherwise, skip
3. apply leave-in (nexxus headdress, salerm 21, giovanni direct)
4. apply oil (castor, jojoba, castor, grapeseed, nexxus botanic oil, etc.)
5. air dry (rollerset, bun dry, loose dry, whatver I have time for that week.

In between washes, I moisturized and oil my ends as needed, some weeks not at all, some weeks every other day, some weeks daily, depends on season, style, etc.

Neroli

what exactly is keeping it simple in other words what describes simple as far as hair?

I have made a keep it simple routine in my fotki a while ago, but with me always trying new products or trying to use up what I have it is kinda hard to get the product simplicity into the pic. my routine is genuinely simple though.

khandi I could not find that kids organic conditioner, I went to sally's and a reg bss.

I have a KISS approach and it is working so well.

clarify + moisture wash + deep condition + leave ins + air dry + oil + rollerset

Hi Sassy,

IMO, KISS should not limit ability to use different products, but the routine should be simple. I have several different 'poos, condish, leave-ins and oils galore, but only use one of each at any given time. No matter which products I use, my wash days can be as simple as 30 minutes -- co-wash, leave in, oils & wet bun and I'm free to go party! Or as long as 12 hours if I deep condish for hours, rollerset & airday.

Aside from wash days, I don't do much of anything to my hair, a little water and & oil on the ends every couple of days, if that, is all I do in between.

I don't have the complexity of using a bunch of different stuff at the same time, but rather the TIME on wash days -- how long I leave the condish in and how long to air dry - it takes 8 to 10 hours to air dry my rollersets but if I bun my hair, I can leave the house even though takes even longer to dry in the bun. I love the flexibility of having these variety of methods and I can be quick if I have to or I can take all day if I want. It's pure freedom . . .

Neroli
