I don't believe Minoxidil increases hair follicle size at all. The hair that it grows back is very fine, almost like baby hair. And sadly the hair falls off when you stop using it so you have to commit to it for a lifetime if you want to keep the hair you grow with it.
Folligen does increase hair thickness so may be good to use with Minoxidil if you decide to go with that.
I don't know much about Propecia but IIRC, it is not recommended for women (esp pregnant women) and I believe if you stop taking it, the hair falls off too.
