have i offended?

I'm sure you haven't. Sometimes a post will get no replies depending on the time of day you post (responses are more likely during people's work hours :look: or in the evening). Also a catchy title to the thread is more likely to draw people in. Don't take it personal.

Nope, I wasn't offended. There was nothing offensive about that thread. I notice that sometimes, you may post a thread that people read, they may find it to be informative, but they just don't comment. Or, maybe a lot of people, like myself, don't know a lot on the subject of indian hair products. So I'll read it and just move on to other threads because I have nothing to add to the thread. HTH:yep:

ETA: I didnt want to come off as if I was offended, I was just giving reasons as to why people would ignore it. I left the thread confused and :perplexed wondering what you were getting at.

BTW there is nothing wrong with vegetable oils, and mineral oil doesn't hurt either. (IMO)

IDK but threads get posted around here like 90 going north so it may have gotten glanced over. I have seen plenty of threads get posted with 0 replies and 20 views. If someone doesn't have anything to add the discussion they may not post that nothing against the poster it's just how it works from time to time. Sometimes if someone has the same question/comments they may bump the thread for another poster to answer/comment. I just read your thread interesting statement but I don't have anything to add the discussion since I don't use Indian products. Not saying I won't use Indian Products but I'm a recovering PJ and I'm trying to cut back before I purchase new products.

If you offended believe me these ladies would come right out and let you know it.

No responses is probably just people haven't had the chance to see it or maybe the title wasn't catchy? I dunno...

But most of us would not be offended at anything that will help our hair on the way to splendor...least of all me.

I don't care if martians use it, if it works...sign me up.

i didnt see your post either.

So do u use strictly powder and no oils for washing, what do u moisturize with (if u do)?

What is ur routine? ur hair is beautiful!

whenever that happens to me, i just bump it until i get responses. i guess i'm pushy and aggressive like that but no one has yelled at me yet for doing that.

Your post shared information but did not ask a question or for other's opinion- so many may have read it without posting a comment.

You could edit to tell readers what kind of feedback that you want...

The title is a question but the post is more general info...good food for thought but not sure what you are looking for.

ok.... i guess you are rite, mineral oils do ok with some ppl. what i am getting at is... there is a marketing ploy by the Dabur and Emami companies. i to was fooled by the "amla" oils. they make it seem that it is all amla or shikakai. but it is mostly all mineral oil and dyes to make it green. I eat amla fruit and the color is very light. so that dark green color is the chemical dye. Hopefully i haven't confused you more.

Oh you mean like how they say Tea Tree Oil and its just soybean, vitamin e, and then some tea tree and coloring. Or carrot oil, but really mostly sunflower oil. They do that all the time, you just have to read the directions before you buy it if you don't want extras. You have to really inspect the stuff, typically the smell and color give it away for me. Once I almost bought some EVOO that was bright green... Of course it was cheapo, and of course I red the ingredients and they manage to sneak in yellow 5 or some kinda colorful mess. Ive never gotten Amla oil before, so I don't really know how to judge that. If there are dyes and fragrances and chemicals in it then I usually think twice. But if there is a carrier oil then I re-evaluate it based on what I needed it for and whether I needed it at all. Other vegetable oils don't scare me, in fact they make my hair feel almost as good as EVOO.. Like... I use the Hollywood Beauty Tea tree oil on my nails, so thats OK that there is fragrance and stuff in it because it helps me relax better without that strong tea tree smell and doesn't irritate my skin, etc.

I guess I can understand why you would feel cheated... Like when they say 100% white meat chicken and you get dark meat hidden in the bucket. I'd be mad too... thats why I don't even waste my time on the stuff. I mean for all that work I could just pour baby oil (mineral oil and fragrance) on my head for a tenth of the price (and this wouldn't bother me one bit-- dare me to do it!). I just stick to EVOO and virgin coconut and grapeseed oil. I know no one f^cks with it because people cook with it, so if I ever use oil on my hair I have no need to send for something that can be faked/messed around with.

Wow i have learned alot.. thanx ladies.
about bumping.... LOL now i get what that means :lachen:and not feeling bad if no one responds.
Now i am not trying to discourage anyone from using the indian products.. but for those who want to use natural products as much as possible you have to be careful. like stated in the original post.. love Vatika oil, not the shampoo.

Lol dont get mad, but thats what I thought u were doing at first :look: jk... I understand, I hope my post wasnt like negative. I thought you were bashing mineral oil and stuff, but now i see you were just saying the companies were being misleading. Ive never used any of it but Ill be sure to look out now that I know since I am a PJ and Im bound to wind up face to face with the stuff at some point..

Ok i've never used carrot oil or the hollywood beauty tea tree oil. i've used tea tree oil for cuts etc.. and of course that needs a carrier oil. now i was completely floored to read that you found evoo that was green. LOL that is a new one from me.
how does the grapeseed oil work for you? is it a heavy oil?

I will never use it for an oil rinse again, because oil rinsing never helped me. It is lighter than coconut oil, lighter than castor oil, and I think its about the same as EVOO in my opinion. I use it added to my DC or when/if I prepoo. It makes my hair shiny and soft, but I don't use it often just because I prefer coconut oil now. I use the grapeseed oil around my eyes when I oil wash too.

Yea my mom bought the green EVOO and no one wants to cook with it. I may just use it if I run out. Food coloring doesn't scare me.

Now I really want to try the baby oil thing since I said it.

You know white girls do that too? DC with baby oil and rinse it out? Couldn't hurt... its a lot cheaper than EVOO or coconut oil... and its in a lot of conditioners... hmm...:look: i sound crazy.
