I've had these braids in for about 3 months now. I am probably going to have to wear them until the end of the school year, becasue my college is in the whitest town in america and i do not feel like dealing with my natural hair right now. I feel like my hair is growing so slowly. I can't tell if I'm moving on the right track or not. I think becaue I am in college, I am kinda of slacking. I don't really take any vitamins. But I am going to start doing odorless mtg, flax seed, and maybe biosil or msm. My diet is alright. But, I'm really going to kick it up a notch in mid-april. Do you think that I've had a decent amount of new growth for this amount of time? And also, I never really determined the difference between 4a or 4b hair. Can you tell what type I am from the pic? Do I have a little 3c in there?

Memo to self: get darker color for braids next time.

I see lots of growth. Just remember, on average, hair grows about .50 inches a months so for 3 months in braids, you have a decent amount of growth.

I'm gonna say that you are a 4a/b because my newgrowth looks just like that.

I agree w/Nelli. That looks like the right amount of growth for about 3 months. You should have about 1.5" of growth. Remember, shrinkage can be VERY deceiving, but that amount of growth looks about right.

And yes, looks 4a/b to me. :)
