Has working out really helped with your hair growth?

It is right on time you asked that because I was sitting here thinking about things I am going to do more diligently to improve the condition of my hair and body. I will:

exercise more(stimulate hair growth/weightloss)
eat more protein(thicken my hair strands)
get more sleep(helps with weightloss)
drink plenty of water(for hair growth/weightloss)

I know I have read that exercise helps with hair growth, but I haven't really noticed. Then again, my diet at the time was deprived of ample amounts of protein. Everything works together. Unfortunately, I am finally figuring that out. It has been a long journey, but I am determined to achieve all my health goals.

For me it doesn't have an effect. I still get my average .5-1" a month. I exercise 3-5x weekly and take my vitamins yet my hair still grows it's average rate.

Same here...my hair grows how it grows. With or without vitamins & exercise, it grows at the same rate.

I would not be able to tell as I have been working out for a while.

For me when I am consistant with my cardio for 30 -45 min a day.....I see major growth spirts. I am a emotional eater....always falling off my square at emotional times.

I think it has an effect on me...mainly because when I'm taking care of my healthy steadily, I'm taking care of my hair steadily.

However, I do believe that the healthier you are the healthier your hair will be.

I think my hair is healthier and grows faster when I work out.

My whole body does better when I'm consistently working out. I have no doubt that that includes my hair. My skin especially looks so much better when I'm eating healthily and exercising rigorously 5-6 times a week.

Sometimes I'll DC or GHE when working out for extra moisture as well. I occasionally use a scalp spray after a post workout cowash. I like the tingling of peppermint on my scalp. I know it's clean, refreshed and my growth is stimulated.

I noticed a growth spurt from exercising but i tend to exercise more in the summer, as i tend to lose my mojo for exercise in the winter - so could actually be the summer growth spurt..

My hair grow so slow it would take a huge growth spur for me to even notice.

Honestly, no, not at all and I've worked out always.

When I do bikram yoga my hair doesn't break so I retain more length

Not sure if it grows any faster but I do notice that it seems to be thicker.

Yes, working out definitely has an influence on my hair growth … exercise saves me the hassle of having to massage my scalp.

I haven't exercised in two months and (it could be my imagination but) I feel like growth is slow motion right now.

No effect on hair growth for me. Been consistently working out for almost 1.5 years.

I cannot imagine that scientifically working out alone has any effect on hair growth.

Imagine an anorexic or bulimic person who works out constantly but does not eat properly or is throwing up regularly. Working out would not increase that persons hair growth rate.

A combination of eating well, drinking lots of water and maybe even taking a multivitamin along with working out could have an effect on hair growth, but no, working out alone probably does not make hair grow faster.

I've always been physically active and my hair growth is less than average per month.

when i was working out hardcore i didn't see anything stellar. if anything i was able to retain because i stayed in a protective style. i stayed in box braids while i was doing my weight loss journey.

for now my regimen is good. i use some great natural products but what has always lacked is my internal health. i really need to change my diet, drink more water and take my vitamins. i wonder how my hair will thrive then.
