i'm going to switch my relaxer from dr.s' miracle to something else, so far i'm thinking of using silk elements (think that's the name) found at Sally's. I did find this optimum mineral relaxer (on sally's site).

I was just wondering if anyone here has used it before, if so was it a good relaxer?

are you talking about this brand:

if you are, i HATED it. barely processed my hair, and i left it on for longer than the recommended time.

but if you aren't.... i've never heard of the mineral relaxer.

if you're referring to the lye version, i have used it....it was ok, nothing to write home about....i do remember it leaving me kind of dry (the hair that i used it to relax with). i haven't used it since then....

Hey,

Thanks ladies, i think my hair needs moisture because i dont think dr.s miracles provided me with moisture, i will maybe try the silk elements, but i'm just unsure about using the no lye relaxers.

Is it one in a burgundy jar with white writing?
The one in the box is the last one i used, and it was pretty decent.
If you are(talking about thejar one),then I used to use it,and the only reason i stopped is because i wanted to try ORS olive oil relaxer. After that i started going to get it done at the salon,so i'm using Mizani(what my stylist used) now. If i wasn't using mizani,i would go back to the jar one.

I used it and I liked it. It was the one in the burgurdy jar (lye). The first time I used it I used regular and the second I used mild. Now I love the way it straighten and the regular formula lasted forever. I think I did a touch up at 13 weeks and I probably could have waited a little longer. I was having a lot of breakage at the time and I didn't know if it was the relaxer or me so I decided to switch to ORS lye.

My stylist Reneice has been using this on my hair for the last year. I love it and it gives my hair great results, imo :)

yes it was the jar w/the white writing, i decided to use the silk elements at sally's it was actually very nice way better than dr.s miracle, it was drying my hair and making it break off, i realize now that it's the worst relaxer, i thought it was good but i guess i was wrong, now i have to do protein treatments and stuff to get my hair back strong.
