I'm not sure if I'm liking it any more! :wallbash:

My hair gets tangled very easily.I co-wash about 3-5 times a week. Sometimes my hair is great, other times....notsomuch.

Maybe I just need to be patient....love my hair more. I did just start being healthy again with my hair about 3 months ago.

I love how much thicker my hair looks from texlaxing since I have fine hair. But dang it!

I'm gonna keep wearing wigs and half wigs anyway so I might as well just ride it out. Right?

Well i'm no expert but it sounds like you may be just lacking somewhere (i.e.,moisture/protein) That was as big of a decision as deciding(telaxing and sticking with it) to go natural(as i have started) but at first started texlaxing last year(08).So i'm sure others will chime in (and correct me please if i'm wrong TIA) more experienced ladies goodluck HHG!HTH.

BTW when did you start txlaxing?I've always admired your hair(VERY PRETTY)!

Thank you! I'm loving your bun in your avi!

I texlaxed last month. I hadn't relaxed since about October of last year (got really busy and thus, haircare lazy), so I was kind of in an unintentional transitioning phase. I neglected my regimen for the most part. I still co-washed and wore protective styles, but that was about it. DCs were scarce. (I know, I know.. :duck:)

It probably is something missing and I have yet to figure it out. I moisturize and moisturize, but my hair doesn't seem to hold it. Maybe I need a good strong protein treatment? Porosity control? I think my hair might be porous too. I got my Aphogee Two-Step treatment staring at me from the bathroom counter. Maybe It's about time I actually use it....:perplexed

I just did the porosity test with a bowl of water. My hair floated for a long time. Until I poked it under the surface...then it sank to the bottom.

What say you all?

No thank you! But YES imho! You know your hair is not going to be able to hold moisture if one of those is off (porosity/protein).And since you've done the pc test MAYBE you shouls go the other route. You know your hair and have taken expert steps up until not getting your protein it seems imho.

You mentioned to cowash 3 to 5 times a week, how often are you clarifying? Maybe you have build up that is preventing moisture from penetrating.

Also, maybe you should try reducing the number of cowashes during the week. Cowashes work great for some, but everything isn't for everyone...maybe your hair does not like the constant manipulation.

I'll try the protein in a couple of days. I moisture DC'ed about 3 days ago and I just cowashed tonight. Hair seems to be ok. I think my attitude also affects my hair too. I was being really nice to my hair..talking to it sweetly, being patient, and just listening to it. It came out better than it was when I started this thread.

That's the thing...when I don't co-wash it gets disastrous! My hair likes cowashes, and that's the only time I ever put a comb through it...after it's fully detangled.

I clarified with shampoo a couple of days ago and my hair was sooooo dry. Same thing when I did it a few weeks ago. In between I've washed with baking soda and it was fine. My hair also doesn't seem to be liking shampoo much, but I feel I need it sometimes to get the scalp cleaner and such. I got lazy on my pre-poo treatments..maybe I should start implementing those again.
