I scratch my scalp and get white residue under my finger nails. I think my shampoo isn't cleaning my scalp well.

What products are you using?
Maybe the shampoo isn't being cleaned out thoroughly or the conditioner?
Are you heavy handed with creamy leave-ins? Do you use leave-ins?
Do you clarify?
Try clarifying when you wash... I'm sure the other ladies have tons of suggestions!

I don't think it's so much your shampoo not cleaning well, I think you need to massage your scalp with the pads of your fingers when washing your hair to get rid of any product(s) on your scalp.

yep, i have this problem, every now n then. It's due to product build-up on your scalp. this is my signal that i need to wash with a clarifying shampoo. then it'll go away.

It also helps to lightly scratch your scalp with a fine toothed comb, prior to shampooing. This helps lift away dirt and debris from the scalp.
