Has anyone ever thought about stretching their relaxer until you meet hair goal?

I'm in, because in truth I do this now. I just texlaxed on purpose after 6 years natural. My hair is collarbone length and my goal is APL. I believe I can get there by the end of 2007. My hair doesn't grow very quickly even with vitamins, growth aids, and drinking plenty of water. So I have to work with what I have.

My next texturizer will be in June or July and then in December or January 2008. Three texturizers a year or basically two a year, is my goal.

I think this will increase the strength of my hair and allow me to grow to the length I deserve and desire.

I plan to limit my use of heat, but I am using heat at least twice a month. So count me in!!! I'll update on my progress as I go along.

You can still cut your hair. You can dust the ends every few months or so.

I will make sure to post when I finally make it.

That's true...but my dustings are more like trims so I need to learn how to just dust and not cut!

Yep, I would consider stretching until I've reached my goal of midback but I'd have to use braids/cornrows and I don't think I want to do that. What I'm afraid of is that my edges would go to pot if I start cornrowing exclusively. I've made some progress in that area and don't want to do anything to jeopardize that.

I'm trying to do this :)

The longer I stretch, the easier it gets to just add on a couple of extra weeks. I'm at 5 months now, and I would like to stretch until April or so. By then, I should be about an inch from BSL.

Good Luck Mars_Reiko...I'm trying to keep up too!
