Have any of you ladies ever added castor oil to your deep conditioners???? If so, what were your results???? Presently, I only use it twice a week w/jojoba and rosemary oils to oil my scalp and hair.... I am curious to know how it would be as an additive to a deep conditioner...

Please respond in kind.......

Sherry---I did it once. I added castor oil (the thick brown smelly one) to my Mizani Moisturefuse. Now, I'm not sureif the proprotions were off or the Mizani was too thin for the castor oil but it was a little difficult to rinse out.

I should try it again with my cholesterol to see if this makes a difference since cholesterol is thicker.

SherryLove,

I've never added the castor oil just by itself to a deep conditioner. I've always used some sort of blend including jojoba, olive, walnut, monoi de tahiti and grapeseed oils. My results are usually the same no matter which oil blend I use. I enjoy them all.

SherryLove,

I've added castor oil to AO's Island Spice Conditioner and the Swimmers. Both turned out horribly for me. I just did this as a part of regular conditioning. The oil was just too heavy for me when added to these. I think you could do this with a lighter conditioner, maybe one which wasn't giving you enough conditioning for regular purposes, but nothing heavy.

My hair felt gummy, gooey...not right. I used very little of the castor, too.

I tried it with heavy castor oil, and I thought it prevented my conditioner from penetrating. However, I also tried it with Palma Christi Oil (which I think is castor oil-but it's pretty light) and it worked really well
