Hello Ladies,
These week I have had the hardest time with my hair. It's ridiculous, my hair has never looked this awful and I've never been this frustrated. I'm out in the Boonies with relatives for two week and I really, really, need a relaxer. I know it sounds bad, b/c I'll listen to you all go on about how it's been months since you had a relaxer, but I can't take it. I suspect I have maybe an inch or more of new growth, and the climate around here is killing me. I don't have a hooded dryer (it broke, I have yet to get a new one), yes I have a blow dryer and flat iron but I'm sick of using them every couple days, I have my Pantene R&N shampoo, conditioner, and oil creme, but no hairstyle. I conditioner washed it, then wrapped it with my wrap lotion and let it air dry. It's so hot I thought I could get away with it, but I ended up combing down a mess this morning. I believe the two biggest problems were: A) I didn't wrap it correctly and B) I need something or some method to smooth my new growth down when I brush it around my head. If anyone could give me simple wrapping directions or methods until I can get to the city in two weeks, I would appreciate it SOOOO much!!! Thankx Ladies

Maybe you could consider a bun for the next two weeks? Other than that suggestion, I would say that maybe you really need to make sure that it's laying correctly when you wrap it and do it when it's soaking wet. Maybe using a thick leave-in would aid in helping it to lay down?

I suggest a bun also...especially if it is hot and humid. No matter what I do, if it's hot and humid...then everyday is a bad hair day...so keep it up and back.

I just wanted to add that wraps don't come out very good when it is relaxer time. That is probably part of the problem. In you situation I think a bun would be a good idea.
