I am interested in getting a hard hat style dryer ( low price range 30-60 bucks) but i was wondering how do u use the ones with no base,, are they noisy,, do u have to put it on something high and pull up a chair?? HELPPP

I have a tabletop dryer.

I have to put mine on the ironing board, then roll up to it in my computer chair & pump the chair up on high (if that makes sense).

They make noise (like any dryer) & make the room hot (we are in a tropical location so that bites sometimes), but overall, it does the job.

HTH:)

Hey, Raven,

I have used hard hat dryers for years and they are great. Mine is a Lazy Dazey that I got from K-Mart about 10 or more years ago, and it is still kicking! :) I paid about $30.00 for it at the time. I prop mine up on a chair, and then sit on pillows on the floor; my mom puts hers on the edge of the table, and rolls the chair up to the table, makes the back of the chair face away from the table, and dries like that.

Ditto on what AKA-tude said about making the room hot and being somewhat noisy, but just make sure either your AC and/or your ceiling fans are on. Makes drying wraps and roller sets and deep conditioning a snap!

HTH!

As other people have commented they are a bit noisy. I place mine on the kitchen counter and put a kitchen chair in front even though I'm a kinda tall (I'm 5'7") I sit on the yellow pages to reach all the way. I know it sounds strange and uncomfortable but I don't stay under the dryer much just 20 mins. sometimes.

I hate dryers but I am getting one when I move out. My mother has one and I might just walk off with that one. When I do use one I am never under there long. I want to do a rollerset for Christmas and I am going to to have to use it then....they work and they do a good job.
