Ya'll I got it BAD:nono:!
I have just taken out my braids (they were in for 2 1/2 months) and I am 6 months post relaxer. Well after I took the braids out and combed through my hair it looks like I have about 3 inches of new growth to contend with. I am so EXCITED because it is finally starting to look healthy, gain length and fullness. But I am afraid now that I am undoing all of the progress because

  1. I don't know what to do with the newgrowth.
  2. I keep combing it this way and that just enjoying the length and thickness.
  3. I am itching to try out this new flat iron (keep in mind that I hve used heat on my hair only twice in 7 months).
I guess I am just looking for someone to reinforce what the little, very faint, weak voice is saying in the back of my mind "braid it back up."
Help me ya'll!!!!

Sorry, I wish I could help, but I have hand-in-hair disease too. I can't help it. It feels like someone elses hair sometimes. With that said, I think you should do a couple-ten deep conditions before you rebraid.

OMG you hit the nail on the head with that statement. But I am glad to see that the "illness" we suffer from has not damaged your hair at all. It is beautiful! I will be deep conditioning like crazy to try to avoid breakage.
