how do you keep the part , other side from getting wet. Tried this. Had 1/2 of my hair straight and 1/2 of my hair in a fro. the other side got wet so hair did not get straight and burned the hell out of my scalp. Please advise. Thanks.

This is what I did. I did the front section first, then the back. I parted from ear to ear. First I put a scarf on the back section. Then I put on two or three plastic shower caps. Then I used one of those strecthy headband thingys to help hold down the scarf and shower caps over the back section. Finally I coated the part between the two sections with vaseline. I was shocked to not get the back wet when I rinsed. I rinsed the front portion in the sink, bending forward. Good luck.

Not trying to sound mean, but why don't you just perm all of your head at the same time? I don't have patience for that 1/2 & 1/2 thing, so I just base my scalp and get busy with the brush. I prefer a hair coloring brush, its easier to handle for me. Also you can put not only the base on your ends but also some Neutralizing Shampoo before you start. I would be so frustrated doing it like that. Good Luck.

I found the half and half method to be much easier than all at once. I felt much more relaxed and not rushed at all. It was also my first time texturizing too, after being natural for 5 1/2 months. I really don't think I could have applied, smoothed and rinsed my entire head without overprocessing.
