I copied your braid-out method last night and took it down this morning. AND, um...I must say (not to toot my own HAIR) but it was off the hook. I wore it in a ponytail and got lots of compliments today. Tomorrow, I'm going to try to twist it up like you have it on one of your pics.

I tried to take pics, but my digital is on the blink...but next time I do it, I'll have some fresh batteries in that sucka!

Thanks for helping me to be extra-cute today

Well,

She lets her hair air-dry in a ponytail, partially. Then when it is only damp, she does 3 large braids in the back (kind of like 1 on each side & one down the middle) Then roll the ends & sleep with the hair out, but on a satin pillow case. I also coated my braids with Keracare Essential Oils.

If you look in her album, she has great pics of the process and the results.

Hairlove,

I did not pick my waves apart. Do you?

Supergirl,

Are you going to rebraid your hair tonight? If so, are you going to dampen it first. See, that's why I'm not crazy about the braidout. The first day is cute, but, after that it just seems like too much work to maintain.

Please share how you plan to maintain.

Thanks again.

Nah, no re-braiding.

I just flipped the hair on top of my head and tied my scarf on. Since I won't be laying on the top of my head tonight, I should be okay in the morning.

I think that Hairlove does re-braid though. I didn't use any setting lotion, but once I did a flat-twist out with setting lotion and it lasted all week without re-doing it each night.

i used to do braidouts with my human hair braids....i dunno why i never thought of this with my own hair.....box braids with a little moisture....looks great too!! i used to last a few days also

YaY!! That is so awesome! I'm really glad it worked out for you! And no, I don't pick out the waves.

Lately, I re-braid but sometimes I don't rebraid and it can still look good the next day! I just do like Supergirl says - flip it up on top of my head and secure with clips. I can still sleep on my sides and stomach without a problem and on my back if I turn my head to the side like I usually do.

Glad to hear this method worked for someone else!
