Jesus, I Trust In You!
Creme of nature is a favorite here for shampooing. However, irrespective of the shampoo you use, what steps work better for or give you better results?

This is what I wrote in my hair journal for Mon. 6/23/03

First I attached a spout nozzle to Paul Mitchell's (PM) Tea Tree Shampoo and applied it to my scalp only on dry hair. I then massaged the shampoo in (it felt all tingly) then let it sit for about 5 minutes. I then got into the shower and wet my hair and massaged the PM into my scalp more. I then massaged my Elasta QP Conditioning Shampoo along the length of my hair and rinsed.

Then it was super conditioning time. I hadn't used the Aphogee Treatment for damaged hair in about 12 weeks, so I used that and let it harden under the dryer. I rinsed it out after it was hard with warm water and then applied Elucence's Extended Moisture Repair Treatment (EMRT). I then kept the EMRT on my hair for 30 minutes with a plastic cap/no dryer, then for 5 min. under the dryer. After I rinsed that out I followed with Keracare Humecto Conditioner and kept that in for 30 min with a shower cap on my head and then rinsed!

For styling I used the WGO I bought and applied it to my damp hair and blow dried my hair on warm and then followed up with a big barrel curling iron on a medium heat setting. My hair turned out wonderful and soft, it doesn't even feel like I have any hard to manage new growth which means I can hold out longer for my touch-up! Also, since this I have had absolutely NO BREAKAGE!!!!

i usually only wash my scalp with shampoo. i wash my whole hair like once or twice a month when i clarify. or when i have the feeling that i have too much oil in my hair.

When I wash my hair, I wet it, I put conditioner on the length (usually Suave Lavendar conditioner), then I apply Cream of Nature shampoo or Motions Lavish Conditioning Shampoo to the scalp. I then rinse, repeat, and proceed to conditioning.

The first thing I do is make sure a have a solid 3 hour block of time so I won't rush through.

1.Wash twice with creme of nature. rinse well

2.apply conditioner with plastic cap on top and cover with towel, leave on for 45 minutes or more sometimes I sit under a hooded dryer

3. rinse conditioner with tepid water but not completely leave a little in for that added slip

4.Apply leave in

5. gently detangle section by section

5.apply styling foam and silken seal and a little oil

6.part into 8 different sections braid and let air dry.

sometimes I blow dry sometimes I don't if you do blow dry to get that extra silkiness you can sit under the dryer until your hair is about 95% dry and then blowdry

or rollerset for extra curls

Thanks Ms-kenesha, Nay007, Sonit and dontspeakdefeat for the replies. I've learnt stuff that I hope will come in handy.
I'm growing my edges (18 weeks since last touchup) and the rest of my hair is 8 weeks since last touchup, thus the need for extra care.
Thanks again everyone for taking the time to reply.
