Hey ladies!

I was away from the board for a while because there was a lot going on over here (nothing bad). I had been so busy that I hadn’t really realized that I was away from the board for so long! I hadn’t intended on posting this, but its time for me to swallow my pride.

I can’t say that my hair has been doing great (because it never seems to get longer but that’s okay) but I wasn't unhappy. I didn’t really mind as long as it was healthy. I got a touchup a month ago and ever since then my hair has been breaking. I haven’t had breaking hair in YEARS!!!

At first I thought it was because my hair needed to be washed. So as I always do after a touchup, I washed and conditioned it with DRC-28. I followed up with Mizani Moisturefuse. Much to my dismay, my hair was still breaking. Its not major (then again what is major?) but I am not used to seeing hair in the comb

The two washes after that (I’ve been washing once a week lately) I used CPR (for several hours) followed by Pantene Smooth and Sleek. Slowly the amount seemed to be diminishing. I was good at not stressing about it because I was so busy. Now that I am allowing myself to think about it the breakage seems to be increasing although this may just be a side effect of thinking about it too much.

Just in case it was a case of protein overload, I washed and conditioned with LUST (and the coordinating shampoo---jury’s still out on this). As usual, my hair is soft and moisturized, yet still breaking.

I know it has something to do with the touchup but I’m not sure if it was the relaxer (CON mild) or the way it was applied (I went back to my old stylist after two Mizani touchups with Marvin and an underprocessed touchup with Motions Regular by a random stylist). She used mild this time as opposed to regular because she said my hair was thinning/thinned out.

Anyways, I can’t believe that I’m not really sure what to do. I’m sure it will soon pass but I wish I knew what the culprit was!

I say all this to say--- appreciate your hair whether you’ve reached your hair goal or not!!!!

Okay…I think I posted enough to make up for my absence…..sorry so long ladies!!!

Wow; so sorry about your breakage problem!! Tracy just posted last night with almost the same situation. You might want to PM her for some advice!

Good luck with it!! I'm sure you will get it under control soon!!

Re: Hair Update (LONG)

Sorry to learn of your breakage problem Daviine. It's good to 'see' you back at the LHCF.

Re: Hair Update (LONG)

Sorry to hear about your breakage. I hope you find out what it is soon. I was thinking, since you noticed it after your touch-up do you think the stylist neutralized your hair properly? also it could be overprocessing. Whatever it is i hope you get it under control.

happy hair growing.

TLC cures most things, so just keep up the moisturizing and gentle handling and let us know how things work out.

girrrrl, i was thinking to myself last week, "hmmm... where is daviine, armyqt and ngaa" and i see all of yall posting this week. i'm glad to see you back!!

i agree that TLC is in order. i'm sure you're already being gentle, but are you wearing protective styles still... i mean something that you can leave alone for days at a time?

Hey Daviine

Glad to see you back also. Are you sure this is breakage. It's now that time of the year when the weather starts to change and ALOT of people are losing more hair than usual due to shedding. It sounds like you're doing everything right. SInce you're only washing once a week now, what are you doing to your hair in beween? I
