Hey ladies!
I was away from the board for a while because there was a lot going on over here (nothing bad). I had been so busy that I hadn’t really realized that I was away from the board for so long! I hadn’t intended on posting this, but its time for me to swallow my pride.
I can’t say that my hair has been doing great (because it never seems to get longer but that’s okay) but I wasn't unhappy. I didn’t really mind as long as it was healthy. I got a touchup a month ago and ever since then my hair has been breaking. I haven’t had breaking hair in YEARS!!!
At first I thought it was because my hair needed to be washed. So as I always do after a touchup, I washed and conditioned it with DRC-28. I followed up with Mizani Moisturefuse. Much to my dismay, my hair was still breaking. Its not major (then again what is major?) but I am not used to seeing hair in the comb
The two washes after that (I’ve been washing once a week lately) I used CPR (for several hours) followed by Pantene Smooth and Sleek. Slowly the amount seemed to be diminishing. I was good at not stressing about it because I was so busy. Now that I am allowing myself to think about it the breakage seems to be increasing although this may just be a side effect of thinking about it too much.
Just in case it was a case of protein overload, I washed and conditioned with LUST (and the coordinating shampoo---jury’s still out on this). As usual, my hair is soft and moisturized, yet still breaking.
I know it has something to do with the touchup but I’m not sure if it was the relaxer (CON mild) or the way it was applied (I went back to my old stylist after two Mizani touchups with Marvin and an underprocessed touchup with Motions Regular by a random stylist). She used mild this time as opposed to regular because she said my hair was thinning/thinned out.
Anyways, I can’t believe that I’m not really sure what to do. I’m sure it will soon pass but I wish I knew what the culprit was!
I say all this to say--- appreciate your hair whether you’ve reached your hair goal or not!!!!
Okay…I think I posted enough to make up for my absence…..sorry so long ladies!!!
