What do you do to keep your hair from breaking off underneath?

I moisturize my hair everyday. I feel like my nylon wig cap is causing my hair to dry up to quickly which causes it to break off. Do you have any suggestions as to other kinds of wig caps I could wear? I need to hold in the moisture!

If you are handy you can either sew a silk scarf into the cap of the wig or fall and just cut away the excess... hot glue might work as well but you'd have to be extra careful not to get any in the hair.

That is a great suggestion. I usually just tie my satin scarf (i had a big one and cut it in half) and place my wig on top, secure it with pins!

I wrap my hair, then put on a satin wig cap, then put on my 1/2 wig.

sometimes if i'm lazy, I'll tie a guy's doo-rag on, then put the 1/2 wig on. But of course u don't tie it around ur entire head...just the part that u know the wig is gonna cover.

I wore wigs all of last year. My regimen was to wash, moisturize, cornrow, and airdry. Before applying the wig, I would moisturize, cover with a plastic cap followed by the wig cap and wig. So basically, I whole head baggied.

I'm wearing half-wigs through the winter. Weekly or so I wash, condition, moisturize, cornrow/braid, and airdry. Part of my front is out to blend the half-wig so I lightly mist morning and night and slather a leave in conditioner (Elucence) around the hairline. At night I usually tie my hair in a scarf. I don't wear wig caps. How can you wear a wig cap with a half wig? How could the front/bag combs of the half-wig fit with the wig cap on?

I moisturize my hair and baggy underneath the wig cap when wearing wigs. If I am really being a good girl, I cw every day or every other day.

Poochie where did you get your satin wig cap from?

i found it at the local BSS...it was in the same aisle as the satin bonnets etc.

I wear one under my 1/2 all the time. I just manages not to slide all the way off. It's a really tight one I must mention. I place the comb from the front of the wig right up under it and it stays.

I don't wear a wig cap or baggy and I am still getting great results with my hair growth. In fact, I wore whole head wigs for 2 years this way and my hair grew from neck length to APL and had a great deal of thickness.

I got bored at one point and cut a lot off my hair off back to shoulder length last year and had to start all over again. So I started wearing whole head wigs again and I still don't wear them now. I don't have dry ends problems either as I moisturize daily.

Yof hair is nice. How did you care for it under you wig?
I'm doing a wig protective style for the winter wearing a
lace front wig (no glue, tape and no combs - I cute them out).
Wig fits fine with stretch band attached & bobbi pins.
