Are there any products without protein that will strengthen your hair and help with breakage and shedding?

Leave -ins

Moisturizers

Oils

..anything really

It looks like a lot of the ladies here love henna because it strengthens and conditions hair.

My hair tends to be on the weak fragile side and I've used the Mane and Tail hair strengthener and the conditioner has been the only products to really make my hair feel stronger.

B@B Castor Oil with aloe strengthening creme, I don't know if it contains protein maybe someone here knows. I also use Mizani H20 Intense Nightime Treatment (ceremides). It works really good and smells like roses.

I'm trying out the Garnier Length & Strength line. I've only used the conditioner and it did seem to make my hair a bit stronger after a couple of uses.

Co-sign on henna. I can't tell you how much it's helped my hair in the areas of strengthening. My hairstylist even mentioned how strong my hair has become - and I didn't even tell her that I was using henna!

Definitely agree with this. All their products say they make your hair 5x stronger and from my experiences, this seems about right.

How do you use henna as a conditioner for you hair? Is it a leave in conditioner or just a conditioner that you wash out? Can u mix it with other products (ie braids spray..hair moisturizer) Also Is it actually safe for you hair because its used for body art..

I always thought it was for your dying hair only. Can someone please fill me in, Im very interested and confused – a lot of you ladies rave about it and I want to rave about it too!!!!

You rinse henna out. If you do not allow it color release, you will not get the color, only the conditioning benefits. You apply it as you would any conditioning treatment. I leave mine in anywhere from one to three hours.. it doesn't really matter.. though the longer you leave it in, it's possible for it to color release in your hair.

The pure henna used for body art is actually the only type that is 100% safe for use on the hair. Any compound henna can have adverse effects on previously chemically-treated hair so make sure you buy pure henna.
