hair spray

ok when I do a braid out my hair looks big and voluminous for about 20mins after which it falls flat! (ok not flat but just not as big as I would like), so I am considering trying a hairspray. I have heard lots of bad things about hairspray, so I am a bit sceptical.

Anyhow, does any one have any advice for me. It'll be much appreciated thanks.

How do you do your braid-out first of all. I wear a braid-out style 99% of the time and mine comes out so pretty. This took time, trial & error to find out what works best for my hair.
