I have been experiencing alot of shedding lately. I don't know why. I have been co-washing alot lately with my redkin all soft conditioner and I even added coconut oil and castor oil to it. I haven't been using hardly any heat, except to deep condition and for roller sets. I have been bunning pretty much everyday. But I am still getting alot of shedding. Please someone help me.:perplexed

I'm not really familiar with Redken All Soft Conditioner, but have you tried doing a protein treatment?

I am going to do one tonight that has protein and is for breaking and see how my hair responds. Lately, I've only been doing moisture. So hopefully this will help. :ohwell:

Second the suggestion for a protein treatment. That's what usually works for me. A great one I just discovered and will write a review on is Giovanni Reconstructor. You know the same folks that makes a board favorite Giovanni Direct Leave-In.

I have heard of it, but haven't tried anything by it. I am trying not to purchase anything, but I do have some collagen y placenta conditioner that I got from the RBH website that is suppose to be good for shedding. I think it has protein in it. I am going to try that today. I will let you all know how it turns out. If it doesn't work, then I will be back.

First let me say you are not alone. I always have a lot of shedding. Especially in the summer time anywhere from 50-100 hairs a day seriously! The hair that comes out has a white bulb on it which means that particular piece of hair has run its course and another hair must take its place. So I don't get concerned about that. Are you sure your hair is shedding and not breaking? Well if you are convinced that your hair is shedding and not breaking...it is normal. I have begun to take, hair, skin, and nail vitamins for the last 5wks or so and I can't say I have noticed a difference in shedding yet, if I ever will. Shedding is a normal condition of the hair growth process. I personally tried co-washing to add mositure to my hair this summer for the last few weeks and I don't like it. I feel it was making my hair weak and I begun to see little pieces of hair when I combed, so I no longer do co-washes. :nono: I also hear garlic supplments work. But I have yet to try it.
