My sister told me that she has this problem every year. Does anyone else have this happen and can anything be done to prevent or minimize it?

i don't know of any scientific facts to back this up. but i shed big time at the beginning of fall (sept-oct). i mean i never get shedding any other time of year except for these months. but it may just be my natural shedding time...instead of it being caused by season

I shed like an animal every winter :look:...but my hair also grows the fastest this time of year. I don't do anything to try and prevent it, just DC, rollerset and bun.

It's a seasonal shed - perfectly natural, and no, I don't think there is anything you can do about it except ride it through, and get over it.

Though, she might want to check her diet and/or activity level, and see if anything she does changes with the weather - if it does, she might want to change that, so to speak.
