Can I get any recommendations on a good clarifying shampoo. My hair has been doing well seems to be growing but the last 3 weeks when its washed and styled its not as shiny has it has been. I assume i need a clarifying shampoo but i dont want to strip my hair too much either. Thanks

Are you natural or relaxed? If you're relaxed with no-lye, you might need a chelating shampoo to get rid of mineral/calcium deposits. This could also happen if you live in an area with hard water. Clarifying will get rid of the build up from your external strands but Chelating will also remove internal strand build up.

A good chelating poo is Quantum Clarifying from Sally's. The title says clarifying but if you read it, it tells you it also chelates. There's good ingredients in it too.

I believe Joico makes a good chelating shampoo as well.

And Ion Hard Water Shampoo, also found in Sally's, chelates as well.

I totally agree :yep:

redken cleansing shampoo (clarifier)

probably one of the products you used took the shine away, i've had this happen to me and most of the times a products was the culprit of taking the shine from normally shiny hair.

I love Ouidad Water Works Clarifying Shampoo.

Whatever clarifier your use, make sure to follow up with an ACV rinse to restore the PH balance in your hair. You'll definitely see and feel the difference in seconds.

I recommend Elucence Volume Clarifying Shampoo. It's one of maybe only two cleansers that will ever touch my hair. It has fantastic ingredients, it chelates, it doesn't strip my hair or dry it out, it's very concentrated so a little goes a long way, etc etc.

I recently Purchased Elucence Clarifying Shampoo (I've heard good things about this product):yep:

Others that I've Tried/Own:

Aubrey Organics Green Tea
AG Fast Food Clarifying Shampoo
Abba Molasses Clairfying Shampoo
Avalon Organics Lemon, Shea Butter & Babbasu Oil (I have both the Clarifying 'Poo & the Clarifying Conditioner) Like this alot.

The Key has been for me, to put Moisture back into the Hair after Clarifying with a Good DC.:yep:

Im relaxed use Mizani with lye. I do believe that the water in the area is hard as well. Should i still be using a chelating shampoo?
