hair rules?

i was reading the post about women who were growing out their daughters hair and i wanted to know if ne of you had rules about your hair growing up?
my mother has a rule about everything basically so for me i couldn't get a perm, micros, our colored weave till i was in middle school( wel the colored weave wasn't really rule, i just kind of came home like that and my mom looked at me funny ) what about you guys?
