Can any and everyone share hair line breakage tips and causes? Pics would be appreciated as well. :yep:

harsh relaxers, tying scarf down too tight at hair line or just repeatedly tying scarf at hairline, not moisturzing it enough, internal issues (hormonal/hereditary receding hairline, stress, alopecia, etc) , putting too much tension on it (ponytails, twists, braids)

Thanks, I've tried keeping away from the area but nothing seems to be helping.

you have to be gentle and baby that area, when washing and keep it moisturized. if my relaxer sits too long, i lose some of my edges. i recently made a thread about using castor oil and via and i had some progress

Also, I would recommend Avo'Coco Lotion or Avo'Coco Creme to help with hairline breakage. It may take a while to get to you, but it's worth it. I applied this at least once a day and I no longer saw broken hairs coming off from edges and nape. The hair in those areas are so weak, and everytime I would try to apply a growth aid, pieces would just come off on my fingers.

I would suggest a growth aid applied specifically to that area. MN mixture is good. Minimize manipulation as much as possible. Keep that area moisturized. Sometimes washing face can dry the area as well, so you probably want to apply a light oil daily (after you wash your face).

Maybe try co-washing too...if that can fit into your regimen.

excessive brushing especially on the edges killed my hair when I was younger. I would suggest moisturing it alot. And don't tie you scarf to tight. Also if you use gel to smooth it out make sure you watch the gel out before you style again.

I never thought about the bolded. You are so smart. I'm going to start keeping my edges covered when I wash my face. Some of those cleansers are probably harsh on the hair.
