Hi

I have thin hair, it has thinned due to unhealthy practices by myself. I was not smart enough earlier before I found LHCF.

quote

'Lamination creates a protective film around each hair which covers it and smoothes all the roughness in its structure. This coating makes your hair look healthy, shiny, and adds additional volume. Besides, it protects hair from aggressive influence of the environment (pollution, ultraviolet radiation, dry air indoors) and adverse effect of salts in the tap water. The effect preserves for 3-5 weeks'

I was looking for ways to thicken my hair and came across this.

I know there are a lot of scientists on this board, do you think this would work on relaxed hair.

I am going to try it this weekend. I normally henna every weekend, so I am looking to laminate (gosh what a nice word to use) instead.

Will update you guys on what happens..

all hair loses protein so it would be safe for your hair. some folks lose the protein in their strands more quickly than others due to the elements, heat styling, or chemical services. this is why folks use hard core protein treatments.this is why products with ceramides are important also in addition to moisture & protein

I have fine relaxed hair too. Ive had some plain gelatin packets that I bought months ago to add to conditioner but never got around to it. This sounds like what I was planning to do anyway.

Is balsam another name for a rinse out conditioner in the UK?

I LOVE this HHJ!!

mshoneyfly I'm from the UK and have never heard of a balsam before. Did some googling and this is what wiki said
Balsam is a term used for various pleasantly scented plant products, and the plants which produce them. Balsams are oily or gummy oleoresins, usually containing benzoic acid or cinnamic acid, obtained from the exudates of various trees and shrubs and used as a base for some botanical medicines.

And the oxford dictionary said
An aromatic resinous substance, such as balm, exuded by various trees and shrubs and used as a base for certain fragrances and medical preparations:

So it seems like some sort of oily conditioner thing. I've read on other websites that any hair mask is fine

mshoneyfly - I was going to use conditioner, apparently this is used a lot in Russia, so I don't know if they call conditioner balsam

Okay, thanks for the responses. I have braids now but will try this when I remove them in April.
