Hi Ladies! I am new to the board and I love looking at everbody's progress pictures, so I thought the least I could do was share mine. :)

Please keep in mind that during this whole time I only got my hair washed every 6 weeks (don't drop your jaws), and that was also the same time I got a relaxer. I used curling irons on my hair just about every other day and protective styles was a foreign concept to me.

The before picture was taken at my graduation ceremony in early May. Sorry, I don't have any pics where you can see the back of my hair, but it was pretty much the same length as the front.

The after pic you can find in my signature :)

We will see how my hair grows now that I'm actually taking care of it.

Thats some good growth, chica!:) So when did you stumble upon this site? And dont worry, before I started taking better care of my hair I would only wash once every 2-3 wks:eek: Gross, huh. Anyway, what is your current regimen?

I stumbled upon this site around October 24 when I was looking for methods on how to grow ethnic hair, and I'm glad that I did! Right now I wash once a week with MNT. I had used it before but got lazy with the washings. I take a multi-vitamin (vitaball, because I hate pills), and I also use MN mixed w/ coconut oil every other day. On the nights I don't use that, I use Motions Salon Herbals Mango Butter which I LOVE. I wear my hair in a bun when I go to bed in addition to using a silk scarf. I have noticed a huge difference already. I now only use the curling iron once a week....twice if I decide to go out on the town. I hope to keep it simple, but that's probably the everyone's famous last words  . Now that I am taking care of my hair more, the new growth seems to be less noticeable... I'm wondering if I'm just doing a better job of flat ironing it or if maybe the products I'm using make the new growth not so obvious. What do you think?

I never took really good care of my hair either but it always grew. But welcome. I want to see if my hair will like all of this extra attention also

Welcome. I'm a relatively new member too. Unfortunately, I found this board after a hair disaster ,so at least you're ahead of the curve. Your hair looks great. Good luck reaching your hair goals. The members here are so helpful and supportive of everyone's goals. I love it here.:)

Welcome!!! Your hair looks healthy especially considering your heat use. I'm sure it will grow to long lengths as you get advice from here. Happy Growing!!!

Wow your hair grew alot. I believe there's something to be said about the MNT. That's why I started using it a few weeks ago. Welcome and HHG :)

That's a lot of growth for just five months. Amazing. It looks great!

Thank you, my hair has not been longer than it is right now, so we'll see if I can finally push past this length. My hairdresser made me believe that this was as long as my hair could grow, so I'm determined to prove him wrong.

I was the same way. Glad you joined the board. At least you didn't lurk for a year like I did. :look:
