Hello ladies, I have a mother who just recently cut off here permed hair about two months back and she has nominated me to be her personal hairdresser as i have been natural for about two years (an inch away from apl). She has a cute little wanda sykes twa.

As far as products, She immediately ran out and got miss jessies per her own accord, and i recomended to her a couple of other items to start with such as a denman and a few conditioners.

i also pretty much said anything that she doesnt have, i will let her use per request through my personal stash of products ( from coconut oils, kinky curly, to deep conditioners clips and pins ) that could have 5 lladies's hair bouncy and managable for a couple of weeks.

My thing is , I asked my mother what she wanted for christmas, she says nothing, but i know that she might want some more product, but i just dont know what to get her. I already got her some suave conditioners becuase she wanted them, but it seems like a pathetic gift. Is there any products that she couldnt think of that i could get her?

I mean if her first notion is to go out and get miss jessie's stuff, then she's already out of my league . lol. I didnt even have any miss jessies and i been in it for two years.

I want to get her something new that maybe i havent even tried.

What do you recommend?

Either hair accessories as mentionned above or Sample sizes of a natural line like Bee Mine, Hairveda or Aubrey organics. The point is, you don't go broke buying a handful of these and she will feel like you've given her a treat!
Besides Miss Jessie's has mineral oil in it! (yuck) Get her some good stuff but without breaking the bank! HTHs!

girl, you're turning your poor mom into a PJ before she even has a chance to try to be above the influence :lachen:

i think a fantastic gift would be a book on natural (or black) hair care in general. andre walker's book is a favorite around here. cathie howse has a good one. i think anita grant's book is decent too.

amazon is chuck full of those :yep:

Ladies, i think i am turning my mother into a pj monster haha. :lachen:
I think i LOVE that idea of getting my mother sample sizes of things! It will make her have candy eyes and be overjoyed at how many things she could try. Would anyone mind giving me the rundown of "hair gourmet" items that come in sample sizes aside from aveda?
