Hair feels weird

I have been wearing my hair in a bun lately b/c my hair feels like mush if that makes sense. I moisturize daily with long lovely coco locks which is a water based moisturizer mixed with coconut oil and glycerin. I wash with mizani and deep condition weekly with evoo and honey, do a mild protein in between and co wash about every 2 or 3 days. I dont know what I'm doing wrong. But I hate the way my hair feels. How do I get the bounce back in my hair and the mushiness to go away?

It sounds like you are not using enough protein in your regime; or maybe you are one of those people who can't handle co-washing so often. You should do a medium/hard proetin treatment.

Mushiness could mean two things...your porosity is off, or you need more protein. There is such a thing as too much moisture, and with the co washing, deep conditioning, and moisturizing every day, I think it may be product overload. My advice is to clarify, and cut back on the co washing untill you have a better moisture / protein balance.

I've never tried glycerin, but I have read that its not very moisturizing in the winter. If I remember correctly the article said something like glycerin moisturizes the hair by drawing moisture from the air, but if its cold out the glycerin will take from the moisture in your hair instead, causing dryness. Something like that, don't quote me LOL If I find the article I will post it here for you.
