Hello ladies,
My hair is super confused and its beginning to cause hair breakage. Pics are below. Sometimes after a wash and detangle session (which I do once a week) the variety of textures in my hair are so different that I notice I get a lot of shedding and breakage. Not cool. Quick back story.... I was natural for almost four years but began to get frustrated because it took me all day to detangle and style my hair. So I decided to go to a salon for a relaxer. Beautiful results. Then I washed it and then my hair curled back up but more looser than my normal curl pattern. Then I went back to her and she had no clue how she got those results so I decided I would take care of my own hair like I did when I was natural. So my texlaxed results didn't come out like hers. Then I began to see how difficult it was to manage three different textures. So I try to do a corrective relaxer a month ago and still different textures and breakage. My hair appears to be strong and easy to manage when dry but when wet its a nightmare. It makes it hard to air dry or do some styles I want. More importantly I can't take the breakage and heavy shedding. I use no heat. I cowash weekly, I bun daily and detangle weekly. I do all the right things but relaxing may not be a skill I have and I am scared to do another corrective. Thinking about natural but so much work and I could never get it straight on my own. Lost and confused help. I would just like to add I am only five week post relaxer. I just reach APL and I don't want a huge set back. I am doing a dust today and my last dust was exactly four weeks from today. Should I go back natural and wear it straight for healther results instead of going back over each strand of hair with a chemical again. I loved relaxed and natural I am just not sure what to do with it at this point. Can I correct it with no damage. When I was natural I wore my hair in it's natural state because I was unable to get it straight on my own. Anyway, what do you ladies think. Does my hair look damaged to you. The breakage was only about a quarter of an inch in some places and a half an inch in others. Also I had a lot of shedding. HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT !!! Thanks
