This will be my first time getting permanent color so I have no clue what I could do and where to start...so far I have a lead color and idea for the placement but I dont know...

What color highlights do you think would mesh well and give my curls dimension with this color?

I want the lighter color to be obvious but subtle at the same time...Dont know if I should be looking for light brown or blonde...any pointers? I cant seem to find any inspiration on google :ohwell:

Oh I shall be lifting my natural color (super bark brown, almost jet black) a lil bit so the mahogany will be more apparent...

Hey! You can't really tell in my signature but I have multiple colors in my hair, from that bright red to an orangey color to platinum blonde. For the red parts, my stylist dyed some of it a burgundy red and lifted some of my hair to platinum (remember that my hair is light brown/ash blonde naturally so it didn't have to process as long as yours would). Then she put Jazzing Ruby Red over top of all the burgundy hair and parts of the platinum. It looked great. Only thing is, you have to use a rinse every so often to keep it up (red fades the fastest of any color and Jazzing is a rinse anyway). HTH.
