Hair color at home

I'm going to try going from almost black to a dark brown. Slight color but noticeable color change. Should I apply to ends first and roots last? Sorry if that's dumb but I want consistent results if possible.

I wish I could help you but I'm not sure. I think you're supposed to do the most porous parts of the hair (usually the ends) last?

I'd would probably do my ends first because your roots will process quicker due your body heat from your scalp.
