I am sitting at my desk at work and I see little hairs falling on to my paperwork! I am not rubbing or touching it. What should I do? I slapped on some redken butter treat. I hope that helps. :perplexed

I am sorry. Emergencee by Nexxus has helped me tremendously with breakage. I use to comb my hair or run my hand through my hair and hairs would be falling all over the place.

I would definitely consider a protein treatmeant. aphogee 2 step protein treatment always does the trick for me. It's too strong for some people. So if you do decide to use it, make sure you use a heavy moisturizing deep conditioner afterwards, and let it sit for at least an hour. I prefer ORS rep. pak. with heat, but whatever floats your boat. HTH.

Have you done anything different? Are there just 2 or 3 pieces or more?

I notice that this kind of breakage happens to me for several reasons:

When nothing else has changed (ie fresh relaxer or color), it is because of dryness most times. A moisturizing deep condition after cleaning my hair or putting one of my good moisturizers on does the trick.

If I am post relaxer and this happens, I do a blast of protein somehow followed by deep moisture.

Oh, you know this recently happened to me after doing my hair using Sabino Moisture Block. The little pieces stopped after I washed my hair and redid it using my normal products. So using products that my hair hates causes this.

Also, if I comb my hair and hear some pulling (like combing it all the way through when I am in need of a trim – yeah I did that), I may not see the little pieces right away, but they are stuck in there and eventually fall out on my desk or wherever later, only to freak me out.

Good luck!

First you need to know why its breaking. Dont do a protein treatment yet because it might be breaking because its dry. I agree read sistaslicks article. Does your hair feel dry? Is it snagging on your clothes?

It is a bit dry. It is probably due to the weather change.

It is about time for another protein treatment though and/or a relaxer touchup.

If it is dry, I would be careful with the protein. I don’t think breakage is always because your hair needs protein. I have made that mistake so many times and made things worse.

i agree.

ive heard sistaslick say when in doubt, go with moisture first.
its easier to for protein to bond to your hair, which makes it easy to go into protein overload and that can take a while to correct (it doesnt always happen very easily), but moisture doesnt bind that quickly.
