Maybe I'm a little paranoid because it is not much but...
I examined the hair that was in my comb about 5 strains and I was upset to see there was no bulb on the end and there was definately split ends. And since I just had my hair cut and I'm pretty sure it didn't come from the end I think the split end started from where my hair broke off. Is this possible (for your hair to break and cause a split end)? If so what can you do about it?

It has been 6 weeks and I would like to make it to 8 or 10 weeks without a relaxer and I think that is possible. There wasn't very many strands but...

Should I do protein, a hennalucent, or both or should I give up and relax. Oh yeah did I mention my hair is overprocessed? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In case you are curious I've been washing 2-3x/week with Suave or Motions. I've been doing hot oil treatments with EVO, conditioning with Sauve or nexxus. Using distilled water for the final rinse and spraying with Infusum 23 as a leave in along with Elasta QP Mango Butter and air drying. In between washingings I use s-curl at night and sometime in the am and put Profectiv on my end Ends. I've been wearing my hair up in a french roll or in a phony pony.

Any other suggestions??

My suggestion to you is do condition washes only. Shampoo is very drying to the hair. Use shampoo just for your scalp only. This is what I do during hair wash time.
I put shampoo in my hands and only massage into my scalp, rinse well and then wash my hair with a conditioner. My conditioner of choice is Pantene S&S and/or Jason's jojoba conditioner. I wash twice, the second wash I let it sit on my hair for 5 mintues, rinse. Then I use my deep conditioner, get under the heating cap for 20 mintues rinse, distilled water for final rinse use a leave in and moistuizer and go. Works every time. My hair is much stronger then it use to be and more manageable. Hope this helps.

Hi Lisa, I kinda have your problem but with a lil more than 5 hairs in my comb. I too want to wait 2 months for my touch up but have to decide if it's worth it. I get no breakage right after a touch up -- it's usually not till 3 to 4 weeks into that I see hair in my comb and definitely at the 6th and 7th week. I am getting a touch up this weekend and will be making the crucial decision -- 6 weeks or 8 weeks. I think it's good to do a protein treatment at 6 weeks. You seem to be doing the same things I do for my hair except I have cut back on the Infusium as I think it makes my hair a bit hard. I like Lee's suggestion for conditioner washes.

Thanks Lee and debyjay. I guess I will struggle with to perm or not to perm a couple more days before I decide.

I usually do a strong protein treatment before breakage occurs. I did one treatment with Aphogee every 6 weeks for 5 months to stretch out my touchup. Just remember to follow with a deep moisturizing treatment afterwards to soften
