Hair Breakage Nightmare

Hi guys, I'm a newbie to this forum and I am pretty much to the point of desperation when it comes to my hair...

My hair was doing fine until I decided to dye it myself last summer then got my hair relaxed almost, but not quite, 2 weeks later. Anyway I've been experiencing breakage since last summer and it hasn't stopped. I dont know what to do anymore..my hair still grows and it's really close to APL, which is standard for me..I usually get to this length and then end up getting hair breakage. I jus bought $100 + worth of Elasta QP products yesterday and I don't see much difference in my hair when I washed today. I even did a hot oil treatment and prepoo. After washing my hair today i tried finger combing and hair would just keep falling off :nono:..I'm considering cutting my hair but this scares me cuz my head's kinda big:lachen:and my hair usually covers it.

I really would like suggestions on a routine for my hair (nothing that requires a whole lot of time cuz I'm an Engineering student and don't have alot of time to spend on my hair)..hopefully this routine would incorporate Elasta QP products cuz I don't wanna waste the ones I bought..

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED......................:whyme:

Try to find your balence between protien and moisture. My hair likes organic root stimulator products. I found that out after much beakage. My hair also likes aphogee protien treatments, but not that often. If you choose to use protien you must deep condition well and often. I recomend trying samples before buying a lot of products unless you're sure that your hair likes what you're buying. You also may need a trim if your ends are split. If you do trim get some one you trust not to cut more that whats needed.

What really helped stopped my breakage was doing a protein treatment every 4-6 weeks and deep conditioning weekly with a moisturizing conditioner for at least 30 minutes with heat. I haven't used a lot of Elasta QP so I am not sure which of their products is the protein treatment. I've used Aphogee with good results. It is time-consuming but doesn't have to be done too often.

Hearing that your colored and relaxed ....I would say you probably are lacking moisture.....I have had been color and relaxed in the past but the key was moisture, moisture, moisture....I would start deep conditioning at least once a week with heat...And start moisturizing daily...

Oh I almost forgot...

I agree with Tracee.
And you have to be careful with protein. Not everyone's hair likes the same kind of protein. Mine likes silk protein and doesn't like food and animal protein too much.

Have you ever worn braids before? You would probably benefit from just leaving your hair alone for a while.

oh gosh i tried braids one time and the result was horrible as well..breakage..and it's not that easy getting samples cuz I'm in Canada and most smaples you can only get in the US..so is there any particular website I can go to so I can get them to send smaples to Canada

Thank you guys soo much for the quick responses and thanx for the welcome..
