Well I took my braids out from only wearing them for 1 month. And when I went into the shower it kept on shedding. It worried me a little, but then I remembered Wanakee saying how we it doesn’t really bother us when our cat sheds allot

Anyway I’ve also noticed that I have lots of tangles and a couple of mats when I was combing through my hair in the shower while doing my C/O. Could it also be that I use different types of oils on my hair ends now then ever before? Sometimes I think I add too much oils and “profectiv healthy ends” on my hair during day and at night I add oils (all of this is with the plastic baggie method for both day and night….I completely saturate my ends. How much is too much on a daily basis to keep the ends moisturized? Sorry for all the questions.

Whenever I have braids I make sure that I completely detangle using a leave in conditioner (watery) before I wash and do a pre-treatment shampoo (EVOO). In the past I had just jumped into the shower and my hair was matted so badly together that I had to cut sections out.

Your hair will shed alot if it has not seen a comb for a month or so, this is not abnormal at all. I dont know whether all the products you have used may have contributed to your hair being tangled, I try to keep it simple, e.g. just 1 product and I add moisture on a as needed basis, maybe every other day. This may not work for you but I just thought I shed some light on the subject....

Thanks for the advice ladies - you alll are great. I think that I forgot to menton that my hair has grown 2 1/2 inches since May 23rd (date of last perm). I have retained and utilized all information from this board on proper haircare and it's working! My hair has never grown this fast!!!

Maybe this is a prime factor in my hair shedding also. Who knows. But for right now I will go with the flow. Thanks again ladies
