One gray hair? Is that all? Well, I have SEVERAL. However, getting gray hair early runs on my Mom's side of the family. Heck, my youngest niece (who is now 6) had her first strand at the age of 2.

It really isn't a big deal to me though. I used to cover it with a rinse, but I stopped using rinses months ago. I was 'thinking about' going back to my rinses, but I not sure right now.

Well, I hope that you don't smoke. Smoking definitely accelerates grey hairs. Maybe even second-hand smoke.

Other than that, girl, don't sweat it!

I know it's not a big deal, just a surprise that all. My dad didn't get his first until he was about 45 and my mom didn't get her until she was around my age now. They are both laughting at me. I have had so much stress in my life this past month I guess it was done

Nay,

No I don't smoke anymore, I quit in February.

Try not to stress or worry about things too much..I heard that is the fastest way to get a "full" head of gray hair.

How much does stress play a role in getting a "full" head of gray hair? I'm glad my gray strands are hereditary and not stress related. Stress isn't good for the body.

It plays a role-I can't tell you how much because I got it from older and wiser people who know and have seen it happen. I know that stress makes your hair fall out sometimes too. Maybe I can do an actual "research" on this...

Perhaps you are deficient in zinc especially if you have been under severe stress lately. Zinc can be depleted by high stress levels. When zinc is at sufficient levels in the body, studies show that greying can be reversed. Best source of zinc is wheat germ. You can also increase zinc intake by eating egg yolks, pumpkin seeds, brewer's yeast; and seafood such as shrimp, oysters and mussels.

One grey/gray hair?

I saw one too on my head the other day and I might have more but like Allandra, they don't worry me. I once posted an article by Jay Bates of a positive way to look at gray hair and will post it again.

Just know you're always as young as you feel so don't let a little adornment like that make your forget what a "shooting" you still are. Still plenty of time before you become a full grown tree so ignore it and have fun. With the way trends change, having gray hairs might be the next cool look to sport. You could be the trend-setter and make it so if you wore it with pride.

I'm sure many years ago no one ever thought "bald is sexy" would ever leap out of anyone's mouth without a screw being loose somewhere.

I know that your are all right. I just can't believe it. It won't bother me, I just think it is funny especially that it came at Christmas, like it was a Christmas present or something.

Raquel, my grey hairs are weird. They start growing in grey then a few weeks later when I look up close it is only grey on the end and the rest of the hair shaft is black. So I just let it grow out then cut just the end off.

This same thing happens to me and I never understood why, It's like it wants to go grey then changes its mind

. I even tried to look up on line why that happens and couldnt find anything.

Wow, 34. That's actually good. I am not 30 yet and I have about 5 gray hairs from root to end.

Going on 36 years here...have had grey since I was 19 (same as my father...he got his from Vietnam...I got mine from my own personal war)

They seemed to be less prominant though...but they do drive me nuts because they are bone straight...thick and wiry...so they will not lay down..and they will not curl...I have colored in the past...and they will not except color...

I guess I will just have to live with them.

I kinda like gray hair. When its really pretty, shiny and silver on a woman ti can look really nice and on a man a litle gray here and there is kinda sexy.
