I'm sure they can give you names and prices of the different supplements that you can use to help with growth

thanx jainy, but what if i don't want 2 take supplements??? what r some healthy hair habits 2 adopt? keep in mind that i keep my hair relaxed and i live in an area where snow and temps below 30 r common in winter

Scalp massage promotes growth.I have upped my growth rate by 0.5 inches from scalp massage. That may not sound like much but I grow about 0.75 inches a month so half an inch is a lot for me.Do a search on scalp massage on this board.

,

I think that if you do the following five things, you will be pleasantly surprised by May:

1) wear protective styles
2) keep your hair moisturized at all times; don't let it feel dry (do more conditioner rinses if you need to)
3) avoid heat
4) avoid wrapping your hair (it thins the hair out); you can do it but not too much
5) (this one piggybacks off of #1) care for your ends; make sure that they are moisturized use Vaseline or Profectiv Healthy Ends

If you do these things, your ends probably won't need trimming thus retaining length. If you don't want to follow a full vitamin regimen at least try to take a regular woman's multi.

thanx chichi...i had been using profectiv healthy ends but eventually stopped using it b/c it made my hair feel 2 sticky...was i just using 2 much of it? or is there a better method for using it? the only time i was ohkay w/how it was working was when i was using it b4 bed and then putting my hair into a bun. does n e 1 know a better way?

That's how I use the Profectiv too; I put it on my ends before I mist my hair and put it in a bun. I hate the way it makes my ends look when I am wearing my hair out (rarely). When I wear my hair out, I just use a light oil on my ends.
