Hi All

So i have just had Kinky twists put in and i'm hoping it will help improve my hair care regime.

Went to a local salon whom were ok, did have reservations but the twists aren't tight feel very lightweight, BUT....... i had about 5 people doing my hair all at the same time, at one point i felt like getting up and running out bit of a panic attack i think  so i guess it was done in super time.

Trimmed and blowdryed my hair before i went having done a henna and deep treatment the night before

so the question is how to maintain it for two months. I am BROKE so buying more products is out the question.

what i do have is the following i was hoping maybe i could get some advice as to what to use for daily moisture and oil

ORS Olive oil, Carrot Oil and the Sheen Spray
MOP Leave in Conditioner & Gloss serum
Homemage MTG mix
Jojoba, Almond, Coconut, Castor Oils
EO teatree & Lavendar Eculaptyus
S-Curl (but left my hair hard)
Keracare Creme dress
MTG Mink oil
Maybe dilute and use as leave in?
Motions Moisture Plus Conditioner
Aphogee 2 min keratin
Elasta Qp Intense fortifying conditoner

want to stick to the C&G method as much as possible

all help is apprecitated.:D

Small rant at the end,
so last night i'm sitting here deep con, n my mate goes i think you are getting a tad bit obssesive about your hair, i don't think three days a week deep conditioning because my hair is sooooo dry and cowash every other day is much, must admit i retorted if she spent the same time i did on my hair on her weight.........

That sounds like a whole lot to do while your hair is in those twists. I would worry about buildup. The main thing on C&G (and I am not an expert) is the spray mix that you saturate the braids with. All of that other stuff seems quite excessive. I would mainly worry about keeping my scalp clean. That's the thing that drives me crazy when I have braids. I know the other ladies will have suggestions.

If you trying to keep them for 2 months you betta leave that head alone.:)
I would wash with a stocking cap on w/o munipulating the hair every two weeks w/castille soap because it doesn't disturb the hairs natural oils. I would use a leave in conditioner along with Infusium 23. I would use a light spray moisturizer nightly or every other day while sleeping in a bonnet.

Have seen Den1 method for stocking cap washing, but question is still what mix of products? as can't afford to buy more, standing out side the hair & Beauty shop like a fat kid in front of a candy store lol

I am sure the oils you have listed will be good for sealing moisture and shine nightly/daily. That MTG mix should help the growth. You already have a leave in conditioner. So you shouldn't need to buy anything new.
Just try different mixtures of products after you wash to see which results you like best. You know its all about experimenting. :)

Chile I'm hair lazy. Somebody else is going to have to tell you about mixtures because I'm a wash and condition girl only. I have only mix gels and activators on my head for different curl formation.

Oh I also have only had french braids with extentions like 4 times in my life. I used to wear 2 strand twist when I was natural the first year but w/o add'l hair added.

Your twist look nice. How long did it take them to do it? Maybe I will try some next week from one of those begging African Lady's in Harlem.

I would do a half and half mix of the Aphogee Tea Tree protien spray and S-Curl and use that on the twist daily. I would use a half and half mixture of some moisturizing spray with a protein spray. That should keep everything nice and fresh.:)

That sounds good. I would also use the keracare creme dress around my hair line every now and then.

When you shampoo make sure its clear and not creamy. I used Suave moisturizing Lavendar shampoo, but its clear so I didn't have any build-up. For conditioning I used Infusium 23 and sat under the dryer to get rid of the extra wetness. Then I used some braid sheen spray on the hair and scalp. I also used Patene Relaxed and Natural oil sheen spray.

:lachen: :lachen: :lachen: I know exactly what your talking about! I use to get off The Metro North and there they go "you need ya hair braided?, Come with me" and it's like 3 of them at the same time! After that I always came to Harlem to get my micros! They cheaper than where I live(Westchester).

Thank you hun, two hours so quick  but then seem to have the entire salon working on it:lol:

i know my problem is a heavy hand, and trying out too many things all at once, might go with diluting my aphogee kertin with ORS olive oil and water and stick with mtg on my scalp, seal with jojoba just for this month
