Crackers Phinn

Either A Blessing Or A Lesson.
I'm usually a 16 week stretcher, but the stylist went on vacation so I get a touch up this weekend at 20 weeks.

Here is 19 weeks worth of new growth:

You know, it felt much longer without the tape measure. At almost 5 months I'm not even at 2 inches.

I think that I get just under 6 inches of growth per year and maybe retain 4 after trims. I'm not discouraged because after 4 years on this board my hair is longer than it's been in my life but at the same time I WISH IT WOULD GROW FASTER!!!!

I also wish that such a small amount of newgrowth wouldn't make my heatless updo's look so crazy.

Other than it being an extremely hot summer and me being a heavy scalp sweater, the stretch wasn't bad. I haven't noticed any breakage or excess shedding.

Anyhow, thanks for listening.

20 Weeks is Great CP! Congrats on Your "Successful" Stretch!:congrats: You said you had no real breakage or shedding. Girl, that is Monumental. I am heading into week 13 of a 16-18 week stretch.

I commend your efforts.:yep:

Any Retention is A Sum-Gain. And it ALWAYS beats a loss.:look:

Did you measure different parts of your head for comparison? I notice people just grab a piece of hair and measure new growth but my hair grows at different speeds all over my head an sometimes certain parts don't seem like they grew at all. Just a suggestion.

I agree with MontegoBayBaby. My hair doesn't grow out evenly. Some parts will have 2 inches of new growth others will have 3. Its strange. All hair growth retention is good retention.

^Thanks errbody!

My hair is about 14 inches, solidly apl with one little layer that's just about bsl.

I considered that other areas may have grown more or less, but since I was the one holding the measuring tape and the camera, this was the only area I could document. :wink2:

Your hair is beautiful!!! My hair grows at an even slower rate - I'm almost 6 months post and I definitely don't have an average of 3 inches.

HHG!

Well you have gorgeuos hair and it's a good length, so I'm guessing that your hair just grows faster during other times of the year. This was probably just not a growth spurt period for you.

You have good growth. When you have time measure different areas of your head as was suggested. I am 18 weeks post and in some areas I have 2 inches, some 1 inch and in my crown I'm measuring 3 inches, no lie. And my crown grows the fastest so I'm not too shocked.

That's what happened to me when I took my braids down. I didn't get as much growth as I normally do with a sew-in, so I went back to a sew-in this time. I did get some(I need to put the pictures in fokti), but no where near the regualr amount.
