My mom still calls curly hair "good hair"! I've tried to get her to change her mentality when it comes to hair, but to NO avail, she still holds onto her outdated views. My mom has 3c/4a fine hair and she is always calling it knotty and wanting me to relax it or flat iron it BONE straight! I on the other hand have mostly 4b fine hair and choose not to beat it into submission to keep it straight...she is always telling me I need to relax and flat iron! My mom is truly my biggest critic and since in her eye's my hair does not fall into the "good" hair category she refuses to compliment my progress, outside of telling me my hair looks thin (I do have naturally fine strands with medium/thin density) or comparing my hair to people with thick hair.
