Can you ladies from L.A. let me know about a good bss that is in the area that I can get hard to get products that aren't at typical Sally's or Beauty Collection... (ie dominican products, Indian products etc) Thanks in advance for your help!

The best beauty supply I have been to in L.A. is actually in Inglewood. It's called Candy's or Cindy's :look: and it in the shopping center right behind Hollywood Park (the one with the Target in it). They have everything from expensive products on down :yep:

I have on gone a number of times to the Slauson Swapmeet Market but I have to do that like early morning because I come from Orange County.

Also this site will show you where there is an Indian store in your area. someone was telling me about a huge Indian area in Paramount.

There is an area called Little India - south on Pioneer off the 91 freeway. You can find all of the herbs and oils in a variety of shops, and it's a great place for shopping in general.

I wanna say MLK Blvd. and Menlo near the Forum. I know for sure that it's on MLK Blvd., but I think it might be the light right above Menlo. Right behind the Forum is where it sits. This is the biggest BSS I have ever seen. Do a search someone hear recommended it.

I hope this helps.

Near the coliseum on Vermont and MLK. I started a thread on this beauty supply store a while ago. Anyway, here it is again for those who are interested.

Product Junkies’ Paradise in Los Angeles!:dance7:
For those of you that just can’t find everything you want in one store, I highly recommend C & J Beauty Supply located at 1029 West Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard (on the northwest corner of King Boulevard and Vermont Avenue in the same retail strip center as Carl’s Jr.).

Don’t let the outside of this store fool you. If you were to drive by it, you would think it was small like the one across the street, but this is a product junkies’ paradise! You will be shocked when you walk in! This store is the biggest beauty supply store in Los Angeles and is reasonably priced! I’ve never seen such a large selection of full line hair care products in addition to wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling weaves, hair extensions, wigs, and hair accessories before in my life! I wonder if the store owner thinks that every African American woman in Los Angeles is bald.

Give yourself plenty of time to shop, because if you’re like me . . . you will want to check out every aisle. Every now and then when I’m in south Los Angeles, I stop by there—just in case I missed something new. :thewave:

I went and lost my rabbit mind!!! You are right its unassuming from the front but as soon as you walk in violins and angels fill the air!

I told you so. I feel that everyone in Los Angeles should check this store out, that's why I posted it on several hair care websites.

does c & j have dominican products? I'm out in cali for work and I think I might go and check it out.

so i went to to the pj paradise that is c&j and i had to keep myself from actin a fool! I found the elusive aphogee EFA oil, and proceeded to snatch up 2 bottles (I left a few for my fellow PJs :drunk:) and some glycerin. can't wait to get home and try this stuff out on wash day!

What is the aphogee efa oil?! And nope they don't have any dominican products. That is really the reason I went bu I found lots of other goodies

Thank you for the tip about C&J, ladies. I have been going to Wilshire Beauty Supply which is adequate, but it sounds like it is a distant second to your recommendation.

I've read about it on the forum, and folks add it to their conditioners and other products for moisture I believe. it has been discontinued and is pretty hard to find but c & j had a few bottles left. try doing a search on aphogee efa, just a warning it doesnt smell that great kinda like cardboard lol but mixed with other stuff it should be ok

Oh yeah i forgot! is there a place in the area that sells dominican products??

I am trying my best to find a place with Dominican products out here cause i am a little tired of ordering n waiting.

Also, is the aphogee era heavy protein? The search engine is acting up with me again.

I live close to Wilshire Beauty Supply store, but they don't have a wide selection of products such as C & J.:nono:
