OK another question Do you use mild, normal or restistant? And finally do you use Affirm® 5 in 1 Reconstuctor For Damaged or Fine, Limp Hair or Affirm® Positive Link® Conditioner For Medium to Coarse Hair. I have damaged thick course hair.

I used affirm w/ fiberguard for my first texturizer. It left my hair very frizzy and dry and I had a lot of shedding. I have since switched to mizani. My hairtype is 4a/b.

Hi,

I'm an affirm fan. I use the normal stength, and have resistant 4a/b hair. It works great for me. My hair dresser also uses the reconstuctor for a protein treatment on my hair. That works nicely too. I personally love affirm, though some find it a little harsh on the scalp.

I only experienced burns a couple of months ago, but I think I changed something else in my regimen that caused me to burn not the relaxer, cause the last couple of times its been fine. Just base the scalp as always.

I'm also an Affirm fan. I self-relax with Affirm Lye Mild and get great results. I've also tried Affirm Fiberguard Sensitive scalp No-Lye formula and I had shedding and some scalp irritation. I also use the 5 in 1 and get nice results. I've been using Affirm Products for 6 years and love them.

I'm a 4b, and I used Affirm for a few years when I was about 13-15. It may have been that I was not into keeping my hair healthy, then, but I remember my hair being dry, and a really funny texture. It got my hair extremely straight, but right after that, I switched to Motions, and almost immediately, my texture was MUCH softer. On the other hand, this is the same time, I started wrapping. HTH

I am a 2C (indio-negro) type with very thick, wavy hair (you know the waves are harder to straigthen). I used Affirm (can't remember the strength) and it worked out fine. I heard that Affirm is one of the strongest relaxers out there so please make sure that you trust your stylist.

Also, if you are like me, you may want your hair straight but not bone straight. I just got a relaxer like this after six months and my hair still feels thick and no shedding.

Good luck!
