Going from curl to perm

I will be grateful for advice concerning going from a curl to a perm without breakage.

by curl do you mean like a jherri curl or wave noveau to a relaxer? You need to be more specific, and if that's what you do mean I would not recommend you do that because those are 2 completely different chemical processes and if you mix the two it will spell disaster! You may have to growout the process you have in your hair and slowly cut off the processed ends and once all of that process is out then you may proceed to use a different form of chemical. You can do this by cutting it all off at once or use braids to grow out your hair. If you use braids I suggest you go to this site because it really has some wonderful tips and inspirations for growing your hair. I did this my senior year of high school. My hairdresser at the time, who was very good, helped me to transition. If I remember correctly, she blowdried and curled my hair as it grew out until I had enough hair to put a relaxer over it. I did this for one year. Now, she said that all the curl had grown out, but I suspect that she may have put some relaxer over the jheri curl hair, but I was fine. I did not have any breakage and my hair was healthy and long. It can be done, but it requires paitience to grow out the perm. Braids might be a good idea. I never went that route. It just never occurred to me. Good luck.

I wasn't able to do it without breakage and don't know anyoen else who has but my hair dresser said I could and she pressed my hair for a while. Unfortunately rather than transitioning to a full head of relaxed hair I transitioned to about 3 inches of relaxed hair

I transitioned with braids then I cut it about 5 inches long and went bach to the braids. I grew my hair like that until it was neck length. Then I decided I wanted a halle berry cut and chopped it off again. I had SHS disease back then
