I can't take this anymore, I love my texlaxed hair...but its pissing me off.

Corrective suggestions. I am about 60/40 texlaxed.

This sucks

I guess you could put your hair in sections (maybe about 4) and relax each section for about 5 minutes or less, just to straighten it out more since it's already chemically processed.

AidenBerry...How are you texlaxing your hair?? Do you use a reg. strength relaxer and only leave it in your hair for a minimum amount of time?? Or, do you use a mild relaxer in your hair?

Why does it piss you off? I'm curious to know did you see a significant amount of thickness when you switched?

I have about a 70% increase in thickness since May when I started (accidently) texlaxed. I switched from No-Lye to Lye

I have a fotki, but it has a wet pic of my texlaxed hair. I will post some dry one's this weekend.

Love texture, love the wavys, love the thickness, no problem detangling

Hate the frizzies, hate when I tried to rollerset my roots would not get straight, hate my edges looking rough with out any pomade or product. Hate flat ironing my hair, wrapping, then going outside and ending up looking like a poof ball.

Your hair looks great. Are you frustrated at how fast the relaxer processes? What do you base your scalp with?

I had a feeling... I jumped off the SE Mild Lye bandwagon recently. If you'd like you can join me on the Mizani Mild wagon :drunk:

There is a big improvement with overall straightness, burning and reversion.

 :look:

This is a picture of my hair last year... it looks basically the same only a little longer.

Did you blow dry and flat iron????

See I am funny acting.

I was using the Optimum Multi Mineral Line...why did I stop using that:rolleyes:

To get bone strait hair do you leave the relaxer on longer than you would normally. I got bone straight hair my last visit to the salon, but I only want just strait. My hair was overprocessed to me. What's the idea time to leave a relaxer on for just strait hair?

Since I am doing a corrective I would just continue the relaxer process. 5-7 minutes should suffice. I guess to get strait you would follow as directed on the relaxer.

I blowdried in that picture. I did not flat iron. But like I said I stwitch relaxers and now it lays flatter? and doesn't revert :wallbash: That is the thing about SE I didn't like. By week 4 my hair was looking like a natural...

Yup!!! That is how I look. Mizani Mild.

Did you do a corrective after you used the SE relaxer. How long did you process. Where did you order it from.

See I have funny acting hair:lachen:Its course, but soft, but wiry. :nono::nono::nono:

Well if you like Optimum Multi Mineral Line you should probably keep using it. I'm going to have to step away from the correction question because I really don't know.

LOL! I can definitely relate to the quote in bold!

But in all honesty, I wouldn't give up just yet. Trust me, I was doing DE mild w/shea butter about 2 years ago, and my hair was so thick! My hair grew so long (the longest it's ever been!), and I could tell that the elasticity of my hair was improving too.

Then...I switched back to regular after doing a big CHOP. :( Sure, my hair looks nice bone straight, and my hair doesn't usually "revert" in the humidity as much, but my hair has gotten to be kind of on the thin side again. :nono: So much so, that I'm actually contemplating going BACK to a mild relaxer again. My hair saw the most improvement during that time. :yep:

Not only that, but who says that "straight hair" is the "best hair"?? So what if our hair isn't completley straight...I mean. I guess you have to weigh the pros and cons for what's right for YOUR hair. If my hair were naturally coarse and thick, then I probably wouldn't sweat having a reg. strength relaxer so much. But since my hair is fine textured naturally, and easily relaxed...I think a milder formula will actually do me better good in the long run even if my hair isn't always bone straight looking. :ohwell:

Do not mix and match relaxers. Some relaxers have a higher PH than others. I learned this lesson the hard way. I think your hair looks healthy. Why not just wait till yr next touch up? I will texlax again in the future when I make my hair goal.

See for me to texlax I have to use regular optimum care anti breakage.
I picked up mild last time by mistake and it processed a few sections more then the rest so now i have straight areas

I am thinking of doing a corrective myself just not sure yet.
