I've never used GNC Ultranourish but just comparing the ingredients to HF37 makes me think it would not be as effective. There's less of everything and not nearly as many amino acids. Of course HF37 is more pricey.
I have used both the HF37 and I'm currently using GNC Ultranurish Hair. The HF37 definately gives you the results better than GNC but the price is very costly, especially for long term use. The price (about 70.00 for two months supply)along with the shipping and handling from Internet ordering can drain your wallet. The GNC is okay (19.99 for two months supply), but seems to take a lot longer to see results and I have to inlclude so many other things with it. Jade mentioned that a lot of people are seeing fast results with Country Life's Hair Maximum. I saw them the other day in Whole Foods and they are 16.99, 60 capsules and you take two per day. It also has some good stuff in it and if it will give me even better results than the GNC, it will be worth it.
If you are looking for a good multi-vitamin for your hair, I would definately take the GNC.
There are some great ingreidents in HF37, but it's really geared towards growing your hair fast. GNC focuses on total and complete hair health. It has more vitamins that are beneficial to your entire body too. To me, it makes no sense to take HF37. The only thing that it has going for it is the large amount of amino acids whcih are really important to hair health. But really, that doesn't mean much considering you can buy you own bottle of amino acids vitaminshoppe.com for MUCH cheaper.
I take GNC and I got really good results. My suggestion would be to take the GNC AND some liquid amino acids. 2 TBS of a good brand of liquid amino acid gives you MORE amino acids than the 4 - 6 pills HF37 asks you to take. And liquids are better absorbed into the body anyway.
Let's do a quick comparison:
Taking 8 HF37 pills a day (their recommended dosage) will get you:
Do you intend to order the GNC from the US if you decide to take it? Unfortunatley the GNC in the Uk doesn't stock it. Annoying as that's the only GNC product I want to try.
I think that LondonDiva posted a web site recently where you can get HF 37 for much cheaper than the original price (if it wasn't you LD sorry! /images/graemlins/crazy.gif). I think that it was in a very recent HF 37 thread.
I take GNC and I would like to try HF 37 or Country Life Maxi Hair. GNC does not have nearly as many aminos as HF 37. Of course, as someone else said, you could supplement this by taking Twin Lab aminos. But I'd like to try something else. While I can see a difference in the quality and texture of my new growth, I don't see any growth results with GNC, and growth is what I'd like to achieve.
KitKat it was me. I actually posted a cheaper alternative of where to get the multivitamin step from and it's http://www.vitaminworld.com for Mega Vitamins for the Hair. The UK source to get it from it Holland & Barrett. The Amino Step can be bought in liquid or tablet form from the same places but the tablets are huge. Regardless it's still cheaper. Amino 1500 would be the alternative. Ladies if you can't stand pills then stay away from the Amino tablets they are HUGE.
I took HF37 for a several months and liked my results. I have since replaced the ingredients with a combination of things that I outlined in this thread: HF37 Replacement
It basically give you a 3 month supply of the same stuff for a lot cheaper and thus far is working just as well.
