Glycerine .. now what am I

I make a moisturizing spray similar to s-curl. I use vegetable glycerine and aloe vera juice and peppermint oil. About 1/8 of the mixture is vegetable glycerine and I add about 10 drops of peppermint oil.
If you don't have aloe vera juice you can just use water.
I have used it on my face before as a part of a facial. I put some on cleansed skin and steam my face with the glycerine on it. I then rinse it off and moisturize. I didn't really notice much of a difference. My skin felt soft but I can't say it was from the glycerine. It was just really fun to do

Simply put, glycerin is an ingredient that closely resembles your skin's natural moisturizing factor, or NMF.
