Glycerin is very moisturizing. It's the primary ingredient in S-curl and other curl activators. Some mix pure glycerin with water and add to hair as a leave in. FOr me, I find that my hair responds to oils better so I mix glycerin based products wtih oil based ones.

Also B & B Oil Moisturizer has glycerin, canola oil, aloe vera, b5. So I found an oil moisturizer with glycerin, oils and no mineral oil. It has worked wonders on my new growth.

I actually use rosewater and glycerin by Walgreens as a moisturizer refresher spray for my hair in the mornings so that my wash-n-gos will look fresh...glycerin is very moisturizing, but I think it works better with the rosewater for my hair.

The thing about Glycerin is that it acts as a humectant drawing moisture, BUT, you can't (or rather should definitely not) use it alone b/c it was dry out your hair. You should mix it with an oil and water. That is why those S-Curl products and the like work b/c they have oils in them too. In my opinion, you should not use it too frequently b/c it will cause buildup over time. HTH

They sell this combo or are you buying and mixing yourself.

Last weekend, I bought Isoplus Braids, Locks and Twists Scalp Moisturizer. I don't have braids, locks or twists, but the 2nd ingredient is glycerin and it definitely has the stickiness associated with all glycerin products that I've used. Anyway, I really like this stuff. I don't put it on my scalp. Just a good dollop in my hands, then rub together and spread throughout my hair. If I do this, braid my hair, and go to bed, I wake up with a VERY moisturized head of hair. The braid out is soft and not frizzy at all. Since I do a light wash 1-2/wk I'm not really concerned with buildup and I also clarify approx. every 6-8 weeks.

But, if you want to try a glycerin product, this one is pretty good. Don't use a lot though. It's extremely concentrated.

Yes, they sell it already mixed at walgreens. I am not sure if they sell it in the actual Walgreens store. I buy mine from walgreens.com I think the rosewater & glycerin combination is the best of both worlds :) I don't have the time or patience to be buying these things separately and diluting them...I guess its just laziness!! :)

I use a glycerin combo on my new growth, and not only does it moisture, but it helps me to easily detangle. It has EVOO/glycerin/honey/water, works well for me.

it doesnt require alot...adding too much causes super greasiness...a few drops should be cool...always mix with water...if not it bubbles on skin

i checked out walgreens website and in the ingredients, it doesnt say it has rosewater. I saw something like methlyparaben but i dunno if thats the chemical name for rosewater or sth....

In certain Walgreens in my neighorhood, they sell it in the skin care section.
